Spotlight on DCC Kingdom Connections 03/02

Spotlight on Kingdom Connections

The mission of Ignite South Africa, headquartered in Harrismith, SA and serving the surrounding regions, is “to model, equip, and multiply Godly leaders igniting eternal impact in South Africa”.  Since DCC began in 2012, we have partnered with June Blanshan and Ignite South Africa.  A driving strategy at DCC for Kingdom partnerships is that they must flow from our relationships and our relationship with June goes way back, beyond our formal beginning, and is rooted in relationships with Life International and with various members of DCC’s leadership.  June is truly remarkable, anointed, and is being used mightily in that part of the world to impact people with encounters with Jesus and to train indigenous leaders to do the same.  June estimates that they were able to “touch more than 20,000 lives” in 2018 with 2/3 making a decision for Christ.

Ignite SA’s website ( http://ignitesouthafrica.org/) says that “South Africa is a country with seemingly insurmountable obstacles”. Rife with poverty, AIDS, the lingering effects of apartheid, lack of education, unbelievable incidences of rape and sexual abuse, high unemployment, and large numbers of orphaned and at-risk children, SA is clearly a country that desperately needs an infusion of HOPE such as only comes from experiencing the love of God.

God’s faithfulness through the years provides us the assurance of accomplishing the work He sets before us.  This year He has impressed upon us to press in and expect to expect a bountiful harvest of connection. I cannot imagine ‘more’ when I look at what He does year to year but He has spoken… MORE!
More Lives. More hearts. More connection. And we receive with open hands… together, we can do this in Jesus’ name!

– June Blanshan

June (bottom center) and her team pray for DCC every morning at 9am. They ask that we would pray for the following:

  • Continued wisdom and favor in the schools
  • Their missionaries and staff, especially the coaches working in the schools and the new CIT’s to be hired and trained.
  • Those serving with Ignite during the first quarter of 2019; Leon DeHaan, the She Leads Michigan Ministry team, Amber Uhl.
  • The conference events specifically to connect hearts and lives as they experience firsthand the transformational power of Jesus.
  • Water: they have been without water for over 2 months and are in the process of having a Jojo installed at both homes to secure water availability.
  • Vehicles – their Bakkie is tired and needing service and 4 tires.

Hearing God | week 2 | …in dreams and visions

Sermons

“…’AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS…'”
– Acts 2.17 (NASB)

From the very beginning, God has been speaking. When He created all things, He SAID, “let there be light…” Later in history, we read in the passage above that He SPOKE to Moses, as a man speaks to his friend… We also see in the Gospels that they HEARD a voice from Heaven SAYING, “this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

We know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And as such, we believe that He is still speaking to His people in many ways. This Sunday, Kevan will continuing our winter series, “Hearing God,” with a segment entitled “…in dreams and visions.”

Hearing God introduction | week 1 | God is not mute

Sermons

“…Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend…”
– Exodus 33.11a (NASB)

From the very beginning, God has been speaking. When He created all things, He SAID, “let there be light…” Later in history, we read in the passage above that He SPOKE to Moses, as a man speaks to his friend… We also see in the Gospels that they HEARD a voice from Heaven SAYING, “this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

We know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And as such, we believe that He is still speaking to His people in many ways. This Sunday, Kevan will kick off our new winter series entitled, “Hearing God.” Don’t miss it.

People of Present Vision | week 4 | living naturally supernatural

Sermons

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give us the Light of the knowledge of the glory and majesty of God [clearly revealed] in the face of Christ. But we have this precious treasure [the good news about salvation] in [unworthy] earthen vessels [of human frailty], so that the grandeur and surpassing greatness of the power will be [shown to be] from God [His sufficiency] and not from ourselves…”
– 2 Corinthians 4.6,7 (AMP)

Many times, in the church we find ourselves “chasing” the supernatural. But, in truth, the Supernatural is “chasing” us, and He delights in displaying His glory and splendor through us each and every day.

This week, Kris will be talking about what it looks like for us, as Christ followers, to be living naturally supernatural in our everyday lives. Don’t miss it.

People of Present Vision | week 3 | multiplying worship culture

Sermons

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God…”
– Colossians 3.16 (BWMT)

“…addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with you heart…”
– Ephesians 5.19 (BWMT)
Worship is at the center of who we are as Christ followers. And, as we continue teaching on the church that Jesus is building in 2019, Brian will be unpacking what it looks like to be a church sounding out the praises of the Lord to the world around us. Don’t miss it.

People of Present Vision | week 2 | a regional lighthouse

Sermons

“…for our Gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth…”
– 1 Thessalonians 1.6-8a (NASB)
Like the Thessalonian church, God has called DCC to be a regional lighthouse in West Michigan, put on display as imitators of God. This Sunday, Kevan will continue teaching on being the church that Jesus is building in 2019, sounding forth the word of the Lord to the world around us. Don’t miss it.
