Living Dangerously | finding comfort in the purposes of God

January 7, 2018

In these tumultuous times, people are looking for a sense of peace and comfort. As followers of Christ our Father promises us His comfort, but like many things in His kingdom, comfort is often found in the most unlikely of places.

“O Lord, I pray, please let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who desire to fear your name; and let your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the king’s cup-bearer.
-Nehemiah 1.11 (NKJV)

Nehemiah, whose name means, “comforted by God,” was a great leader responsible for rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and restoring the city in 444 B.C. Over the next two weeks, Chad will lead us in the exploration of Nehemiah’s life as we discover the comfort and provision available while living dangerously in the center of the purposes of God.
